Wow!! Some other women who really get me! Men just don’t get it. All I hear is that we need to submit to men..but what about you guys huh???You should love your wives like Crist!! Do any of you really even know what that means??? I don’t think so! I think you all are too caught up in the grandiose idea that you are kings. If you study the bible, Jesus thought nothing about himself and his needs. He let the Father guide him in everything, and constantly and relentlessly served people. SERVED people!! That is your example. You think you have been given some place of honor above your wife, like you sit on a throne while she is at your feet. When in reality, you have been given a position of responsibility to serve and love as Jesus did. How do men get being a dictator out of that?? Also, I am so tired of men giving up their responsibility to provide for their families as well. They want their wives to do all the so called “women’s work” and do out and provide an income for them as well, while they get to benefit. How does a woman get to benefit from this partnership called marriage? Men get a maid, built in sex partner, cook, babysitter, errand runner, grocery getter, dry cleaner, unpaid hired hand for all other odds and ends etc. What sense would that make to any man out there if the shoe was on the other foot? OHH and by the way, if you want respect, you are the leader and want to take and wear that title so proudly..then own it!! Be a man and lead your family by example. Just like any other captain of his ship. A captain does not wait to be lead by the crew, he sets the standard and will go down with his ship, not blame and make excuses why things are not his fault! So men, when things are not great in your home it is up to you to get things straight. As men you need to work hard to financially provide for your family and stop giving that to your wives too, that is your God given right to do! As you leaders (men) start to take their rightful places as God designed, your wives will respect you and naturally will want to submit themselves to you out of love. Think about that.

Awesome article Frank,
I’m very blessed to be in the marriage I’m in.
I think of the screwed up relationships I’ve had in the past and all we’re bad because God was not a part of them.
It’s funny if you take the simple steps layed out about marriage in the Bible how smooth difficult situations can be. I think if you start a relationship wrong your doomed. Living together or starting your relationship in infedelity almost always end badly!
My marriage now was started right and though it will never be perfect (because of how broken we really are) it’s a blessing everyday.

I am in a similar situation. Very busy - work 12- 14 hours a day. He does not work. 3 kids at home. He complains because I work too much and at the same time complains because we do not have enough money. The only sex he wants is 2 to 3 hours “sessions” where he is dominant and I am submissive. Very demeaning, demoralizing, depressing. He actually studies how to “train” me to be submissive Physically ,, mentally and emotionaly. I don’t know haw a man who claims to love me can treat me so badly.

Sex is never to be witheld in a marriage? Really? Even if the sex is repulsive to the woman? Even if it is painful to the woman? Even if it makes her feel like she is being raped and used every single time they have sex? I’m not sure I can agree with that one. And I AM a Christian who wants a good marriage. But how can I give my husband sex when understanding and love are the only things that make me want to have sex - and he gives neither. Isn’t sex supposed to be enjoyable to BOTH partners? Why is it that only HE gets the enjoyment, and I am told to be submissive?

My problem is that my wife puts our oldest son before anything else in our life.
I am last. No matter how bad he is and does things that are immoral and illegal, she says she is supposed to have infinate patience with him. But she is intolerant of my putting rules on the kids. Are there any books out there about wives who focus on kids and put them number 1, but the father and husband is laston priority list? thanks for any help.

what we men want is respect and honesty,some time wife should do those things she was doing before marriage,let the home be fun and with sweet voice.then the heart of the husband will keep on coming back to her

i think that respect goes both ways in a marraige how can a wive respect her husband if he doesnt have respect for her. you have to give respect to get it .that is the trade off /
